Friends n' Waffles, Walkin' Weather, Shoofly Pie

 Saturday, Feb 27

Fancy Breakfast Saturday! Audrey and Edie joined us and that made the day even more special. Audrey cracks us up because she is the slowest eater...I took this picture at least a half hour after everyone else had finished. I love how slowly she eats though, I keep using her as an example for my girls (and myself) that we can all slow down and enjoy our food more.

And here's Emma and Edie who came up to keep Audrey company while she finished up breakfast.

I love these happy babies!

While Dallas was working on his pie, a friend brought over fresh homemade sourdough bread! Sooooo beautiful and sooooo delicious.

Oh ya know. Just getting ready to get the mail. We gotta get all suited up - sunglasses, hat, gloves, coat, the works. Lucy puts on everything she can think of every time we go outside and I love it. She is SO fun! Haha and if you look closely, you can see Dallas' legs and kindle in the background.

Yessss! Mail!

And it's not junk!

Letters from our friend Mary and from Dallas' Grandma Norviel.

Okay, now we'll go on a legit walk. The girlies are doing better with exploring and that has been fun. They used to refuse to go off the sidewalk for fear of running into bugs. They have grown so much - now they are okay with being in the grass and being close to trees!

I know. You are thinking, "What lousy parents. Have you guys never taken your kids outside?" Yes. We just aren't a super outdoors-y family. Baby steps. We are uber pleased that they are happy to explore what's on the side of the sidewalk.

Ah, the cherry on top..

SWINGS!

Emma looks kinda disappointed there isn't a swing for her...

But she'll still give me a smile :)

So so beautiful. I love it out here. I love the gorgeous skies, all the trees, the curvy sidewalks and wide trails, the tall homes, and the all kind people. There are so many kind people out here.

Dun dun dun! The moment we've all been waiting for. Pie! Shoofly pie. Meh. Not our favorite. Way too molasses-y. I thought it was going to be more like a ginger cookie inside a pie, but no. It's more like a bunch of molasses inside a pie. Bummer. The crust was good though!
