Chalk World and Brownies

Good morning! It's Tuesday and Lucy and Alice decided to start the day off with earrings. Unfortunately you can't see the earrings in this picture of Lucy, but this is when she ran in to show me her earring selection for the day. Love that these girls love getting dressed up. :)

Emma will dress up every now and then, but it isn't as high on her priority list. On this particular morning, coloring the back of the Aldi cereal box was number one on Emma's priority list.

No memory of what else happened during the day (thank goodness for photos - otherwise I would have no memory of anything!) but here is what happened after Emma finished school. She and Alice and Audrey had a PARTY! That's what Emma called it - and she said it was the best party ever. They used loads of chalk to make their own little world. I don't know how long they were out there...but it was a loooooong time.

This is Emma describing to me what each thing is. She is currently running around their"watermelon" which is also their "dance-break room". You'll have to watch the video to better understand.

Emma scootin' around the chalk while Alice works carefully in the background.

First video I took of Emma describing her chalk world...she didn't know I was taking this video.

Emma is giving an "official" tour of her chalk world in this video.

Lucy loves holding the babies. Today she wanted Mabel on her tummy. We've done this a few other times, but not a lot. Something that I DO do a lot is let Lucy cuddle with the babies when she wakes up from her naps. She's often a little whiny/cranky when she first wakes up, but I've learned the secret to turn her frown into a smile. I just lay a baby next to her and Lucy perks right up. And the babies seem to enjoy being with her as well. They smile and laugh and coo - so it's a win-win.

Alice had to get her blood drawn today. The doctors needed to check on her kidney. We had told Alice that she would be going to the doctor today but hadn't really told her for what reason. She assumed she was just getting a flu shot. I debated about telling her because I didn't know if it would be helpful for her to know. But right before she left, I decided I didn't want Alice to be surprised when it was not a flu shot, but actually something more painful. I thought she would handle it pretty well, but Alice burst into tears.

To get her mind off of it, I had her sit with me at the computer and pick a treat that I could make while she was at the doctor. She chose a brownie. So here are the girlies enjoying the brownie when Alice got home. P.S. She did a great job getting her blood drawn. She is going to be so tough from all her doctor visits.
