Lunch of Champions

This past Sunday was a beautiful day. I don't remember why I took this picture. Probably just 'cause the girls wanted to show off their room and all the stuffed animals on their beds.

I'll have to ask them. They were obviously excited about something in their room 'cause they had me take another picture over here. Maybe they ended up decorating for "Christmas" today and that's why there is stuff decorating this dresser and why all their animals are out...

Ah yes. The moment you've been waiting for. The lunch of champions. It began with a brownie-like cookie and ice cream, which was then followed up by Dallas' incredible strawberry pie. Yes siree, my friends, that was our Sunday lunch. Not my proudest moment as a mother...but definitely a most delicious one.

Here's the cookies I made. Just in case you need an up-close look.

Wow. Dallas' pie. Looks even more beautiful than my cookies. Yum. Yum. Yum.

I had made the cookies late Saturday night when I was really in the mood for warm, delicious, soft, brownie-like cookies with ice cream. I ate some and then put the rest on plates to give to neighbors the next day (because that's a nice thing to do and because otherwise I would eat them all...) Anyway, after family church seemed like a great time to take the cookies to neighbors, but before we did, I had to have the girls try them out so they could tell the neighbors the best way to eat them (warm and with ice cream). So yes, eating cookies and ice cream for lunch had a far more noble purpose than you realized.

And then, we couldn't wait any longer on Dallas' pie. Plus he couldn't eat the cookies (since they weren't gluten-free) and he was ready for a treat but he didn't want to eat it alone, so the girls and I decided we could fit in a bit more delicious-ness. The girls LOVED this pie. Emma said it was the BEST EVER and that Dallas should make it for her birthday and for many other things.

Happy girlies eating yummy pie.

Lucy and I posing with the pie.

Which, by the way, Emma talks about her birthday just about everyday. For the last two weeks or so, she has been emphasizing that her birthday is less than 100 days away and "here is something specific that we need to be sure we do." I love that she is so aware of all possible celebrations. :)

I took this picture to show how great Dallas is and how cute the babies are. Here he is, holding the babes while diligently working on his Chinese AND reading his kindle. I don't know how he does it all. :)

Our sweet baby girls. I love having TWO babies so much! I never imagined or dreamed of having twins. I was quite content with one baby at a time. I looked at people with twins and thought, "Cute but that must be oh so hard." I am LOVING it though. They are such sweet girls and I am really excited for them to interact with each other even more.

After all that rich food we HAD to go on a walk. Plus it was a spectacular weather for early November - 70 degrees and glorious skies - so yep, walk was happening. We drove to a different part of Piney Orchard and walked around there (just for some new scenery) and we also dropped off some books at this adorable "Little Free Library." We met the dad of the daughter who started it and I am so impressed. The girl who made this is only nine years old!
