Emma has been asking and talking about her birthday for so long, we figured it was time to make a chain! We got sixty days to go! The girls have been asking about the chain for a while now and I keep forgetting to make it happen, so we made sure to do it first thing after breakfast. I cut the strips, Emma stapled them, and then Emma and Alice drew, colored, and cut out pictures for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Emma's birthday. Here is the completed chain - it actually doesn't look too long:
Right after lunch the babes and I went and ran some errands (picked up some lincoln logs for the girls and was going to return the extra gel at Ulta but got sidetracked at Homegoods and never made it to Ulta). It wasn't a long trip, but it was still nice to get out. Since being a mom, I have learned that I really enjoy walking around stores like Burlington, Homegoods, TJ Maxx, etc. Even though I don't usually buy much (or sometimes nothing at all), it is just so fun to LOOK at everything!
I hurried home though because Dallas had frisbee at 2. I'm really glad Dallas has found a group to play frisbee with and we are so lucky that we still have incredible weather in the middle of November! The girls and I were going to go watch him but then their friend Audrey said she was available to play so watching Dallas play frisbee got postponed to next week.
Here are the girls playing and a happy Dallas coming back from frisbee.
You may notice that the girls have changed their outfits. They do this a lot. :) They decided they wanted to be kitty cats...and I think Lucy is a puppy. They were rolling the ball under the cars and I told them that wasn't safe and to think of a different way to play with the ball. This was their new idea - rolling the ball under their scooters. :)
After dinner it was PIE TIME! I never ate any cream pie growing up. Mostly just blackberry pie. Which is delicious. But since Dallas has started this "new pie every week" tradition, I have learned there are SO MANY yummy pies! What have I been doing all my life without trying a new pie every week?!
Here's a shot of the babes while we enjoyed our pie. We have learned that we can dump a bunch of toys on the carpet and they are set. They will explore and chew and slobber and roll around like it's their job. Which, it is.
Oh hey! They both noticed me. :)
