Late Tooth Fairy, Happy Dinner

Emma came into our room a little before 5 a.m. this morning and was very sad. She gently tapped me and said, "Mom, I'm so sad. I put my tooth out for the tooth fairy, but she didn't come." I woke up right away.

If you remember, Emma lost her teeth MONTHS ago. Four of them. She didn't put them out at first because she wanted to wait for my parents to come. My parents came in the beginning of OCTOBER. So it has literally been MONTHS that she has been holding on to these teeth. I have been encouraging her to put out her teeth for a LONG time. Apparently the 50 cents she got for her first tooth just wasn't enough incentive. I told her that sometimes tooth fairies give money, but sometimes they give little gifts or treats. I told her this yesterday but didn't know she had finally put her tooth out.

I went and cuddled with her on her bed and told her that maybe the tooth fairy was super busy last night because maybe a bunch of kids lost their teeth! And maybe they did! I pointed out that it was still dark and the tooth fairy could still come. And guess what? She did! She brought three books about teeth hand some chocolate granola bars. What a tooth fairy :)

Here is Emma reading her books about teeth with Alice and Lucy.

One of Emma's writing assignments for school. She talked about finding "crystals" with her sisters and her friend, Audrey.

Every chance the girls got, they put these little pilgrim and indian headbands on the babies. Haha. I loved it. :)

See what I mean about how easy it is to get them to smile?

I went somewhere on this fine Monday. I no longer remember where, but I asked Dallas to make dinner, which he did. It was Hawaiian rice and dumplings. Super yum. I took this pic to remember what dinners are like for us right now. The babes in bumbos and the girls in boosters on the back bench. Everyone was happy and Dallas had done a great job with dinner and I just wanted to remember this little moment.
