Alice's Valentine's Party, Walking Babies, SO MUCH PREP

Friday, Feb 12

A week or so ago I sold a kidkraft table to someone in Piney Orchard. When they came to pick it up, I learned they had two girls so I offered some other dolls, cribs, and other girl stuff we no longer need. They gladly accepted, saying a bunch of their stuff was still overseas. The other day, I had a bunch more toys to pass on and before taking them to goodwill, I messaged her on FB to see if they wanted them. They didn't - but! They offered me a ton of girl clothes that would fit Alice and Lucy and a few that Emma can squeeze into. The girls were delighted and did a fashion show when I got home. :)

Here is Lucy showing off her "new" dress. And that is a baby doll in her cart, not a real baby.

Just a regular Friday morning. Alice and Lucy have been playing together where sometimes Alice is Lucy's mom. It's pretty cute. I am not sure if that is what is happening here (Alice comforting her little Lucy), but it could be.

Alice is so excited for her Valentine's Party! As you know from yesterday's post, she made a special valentine for each of her classmates. Alice is SO GREAT at coloring and drawing and creating cards for others.

Here is a picture of one side of one of her valentine's. Just know that she has a bag of seventeen of those - all different and unique and beautiful.

The sweet babies playing in our closet.

"You want the remote? Or maybe this little soldier I'm chewing on?"

Alice is home from her Valentine's party and she is giving it a thumbs-up!

Ooo! Even better - a pulsating heart!

Olive is ready to start walking!

Everyone's excited to watch her.

Dallas tried to get Mabel on the walker as well, but she is not yet interested.

This ended up being a SUPER late night. The girlies wanted brownies for their party treat. So, instead of one batch, I made two...cause I was curious which recipe would be better. Earlier in the day I had been planning to buy flatbreads or use naan breads for pizza crust but Dallas said, "Nah. I can make a crust." Have you ever made a pizza crust? "Nope, but my dad has." I felt hesitant - I didn't want to add any stress to everything we were doing, but Dallas seemed confident and like he wanted to do it. So, that night Dallas also made a pizza crust AND his pie crust.

After cleaning up the kitchen from all that cooking, we didn't get to bed til 1 a.m. and right as we hit the pillows, one baby started to cry. I got her back to sleep but by 3 a.m. they were both wide awake and not wanting to go to sleep. I brought them to our room and tried to sleep with them crawling all over us and playing but that did not work. After a little more than half an hour, we took them back to their rooms and let them cry themselves back to sleep. I don't think they cried for long though. The other girlies were awake before 6...so that's when I woke up.

Here is a picture of Dallas a little before 1 a.m. - after so much cooking and cleaning. Time for bed.
