Cute Babies, Alice the Teacher, Best Christmas Gift

Friday, December 11

The babies have found themselves in the mirror and it is so fun to see them smiling at themselves. And, of course, smiling at me is also so fun. :)

Here's Mabel coming to join Olive at the mirror.

Sweet Olive turning around to see me while Mabel gives a happy laugh.

Olive peeking through the mirror while Mabel eyes me.

Here's the girlies getting their work done. I am surprised they are all in their jammies. I usually say all morning jobs have to be done before we come downstairs. Hmm...was today a holiday? I don't remember - apparently I didn't stick to the plan on this Friday.

I have not been very good about teaching Lucy her letters or anything. Not that I was great with the Emma or Alice when they were little. I am pretty sure Dallas did all of that with them, but he is not home as much now as he was then. So I should be doing letters with Lucy. It looks like Alice has stepped up to the job and she is teaching Lucy.

I bought these math cubes back when I thought we would be doing homeschool. I am here to testify that we have used them 0% for math, but 100% for building all sorts of things. These are the greatest building blocks, and apparently also great for writing out names. Emma took this picture...and about 47 others (she was pretty proud of her work).

More happy babies. Yes, they are always this happy. I am SO grateful for all five of our sweet children. And yes, I would totally have twins again.

Mabel is in the candy canes and Olive is in the solid red.

Olive doing a little break dancing. She actually does this quite often.

This is just to show you Olive getting up in push-up position. They have been doing this quite a bit.

Emma's writing for her kindergarten class. I love that they do this. Reading Emma's stories and seeing her detailed pictures is so fun.

We got THE BEST christmas gift from our neighbor.

It is this light up, singing, snow globe that is also a lantern!

Truly, the most magical gift. All the kids were entranced by it.

You may or may not know this about me, but I used to collect snow globes when I was a little girl and I can testify that this is THE BEST snow globe of all time. You don't have to shake it up - it is constantly snowing and it lights up and you don't have to twist a little knob to make it sing, you just push a button. Wala.

The girls played with this the whole rest of the night. They ran and got their capes and turned off lights and pretended they were going through woods, etc.

Later this night we also enjoyed some yummy peppermint bark from another neighbor.
