Park in DECEMBER, Caroling, Dancing Dallas

Thursday, December 10

We went for a walk this afternoon! The weather was so beautiful - the babes just needed light jackets. Aren't they so cute with their jackets and pacifiers?

Our neighbor and the girls' dearest friend, Hannah, joined us. You can see how happy Lucy is to be at the park, in a swing, and with Hannah.

The sunset was beautiful. You just have to trust me because the picture cannot capture it.

Lucy, Hannah, Audrey, Emma. I had forgotten that Audrey and Aiden also came! It was so fun to walk over with three different neighbors and friends!

Here are Alice and Aiden loving their time on the swings!

The girls wanted to stay at the park longer, but we had to hurry home so we could eat dinner and then go caroling! Last year we didn't carol until Christmas Eve and I felt like we went too late. We weren't able to carol to all the people I had wanted to, so we decided to start early this year and carol over a couple of nights. This first night we caroled to all the neighbors on our street that we know. We put the babies in the stroller and just walked up and down our street. We started at Hannah's house and then she stuck with us the whole rest of the way. It was magical. Our first song was "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen". I loved that scene in "The Grinch" when they sing to the grinch, so I told Dallas that was my request for caroling. He learned it on the guitar and the girls and I practiced singing it the last few days so we would know all the words. Then we sang a bunch of other classics. It was so great. Caroling is definitely a tradition I want to keep. Our girls love it, Dallas loves it, I love it, it's easy to do, and I think our neighbors enjoyed it.

After getting the girls to bed, I came downstairs to find Dallas hanging out with Olive and doing something on the tablet. I thought he was doing something like duolingo, but turns out he was making a little avatar of himself dancing around Mabel. Or Olive. I am not totally sure which baby this is. Anyway, not the greatest photos, but it makes me laugh thinking of Dallas doing this. He is usually doing productive/goal-oriented things like learning Chinese, doing a math problem, or practicing Spanish with duolingo, so seeing him do something like making a Dallas avatar dancing around the baby makes me smile.
