Run, Letters, Movie, Fam Date, Treat

Saturday, July 23

I got to go on a great run this morning! When I first moved out here, a running friend added me to a FB group for women runners in Anne Arundel county. I haven't really paid that much attention to this group until this past week when someone posted a run she and a friend had done that was 10 or 11 miles at 8 minute pace. Nice!

I didn't know who they were and had never met them, but I liked their post and then wrote, "I want to run with you!" And they responded! And said they would run with me! Even though I live 25 minutes from them! I was so excited all week. I kept seeing other runs they did this week. On Monday, one of them ran 15 miles and they were all around 7 or 7:30 pace. Woah. And then she ran 11 miles on Wednesday. These ladies are legit.

I have been so excited for this run ALL week. Maybe a little nervous, but mostly excited. Anyway, dark and early, Saturday morning at 5:30 a.m. two happy ladies showed up at my door and we went on a run. It was AWESOME. We did about 11 miles at 8 minute pace. Loved the run.

After I got home, we made our normal fancy Saturday morning breakfast - waffles, eggs, sausage, and whipped cream. Yum. One reason I gotta run. :)

Then, after breakfast the girlies got right to work on the letters they are wanting to send to our friend Mary. For about a week Alice has been saying we should send Mary some letters and she has been working diligently on drawing pictures, making cards, and decorating the envelopes. Alice even helped Lucy with her picture and envelope. And Emma has made a couple pictures but then ends up not liking them and doing another one.

Today Emma made a picture for Mary and then decided to make it happen in real-life! Her picture had a ton of animals in it and a river. When she came up to me and asked me if she could make it real-life, I said, "Uh-huh." And then was like, "Wait, what? How are you going to do that?" And Emma explained she wanted to used stuffed animals, scarves, rugs, etc. to make it real-life in the basement. Sure you can do that! Emma is great at doing these types of things. She enlisted Alice and they got right to work. By this time, Lucy was napping so it was just Emma and Alice. Here is Emma showing me the animals.

And her river.

And how the river parts.

And here are Emma and Alice looking at the picture Emma drew to be sure they set everything up correctly.

They then shoo-ed me upstairs while the created and practiced a movie.

Once they were ready, they brought me back down and I filmed it. Emma would even tell me when to pan over to Alice and where I should direct my camera.

This is the end of their movie. It was SO fun to see them plan this whole thing out - starting with drawing the picture, then setting up the basement, then creating a storyline, then acting it out and having me film it. Pretty cute.

Little post-movie dance.

Today was such a chill day. And somewhere around 2 or 3 I decided we should go out to eat for dinner. The kitchen was already clean and we hadn't left the house all day...so going out to eat would be awesome. Dallas was up for it. I asked the girls and they were DEFINITELY up for it. So we headed out a bit before 5...not totally sure where would eat. We ended up trying out a pizza place not too far from us.

Here is Dallas with Olive chewing on his straw. He was happier than he looks in this picture. :)

Me and Lucy-caboosey.

All the babes and me. Mabel must have still been sleeping in her carseat.

We got the biggest pizza size. Dallas was dubious. Would we finish it?

We had zero problem downing that pizza. It is true that sometimes our children don't eat much. However, when the food options are pizza, hamburgers, or hot dogs...it will get eaten.

More of Dallas and Olive.

Also, I forgot to mention that someone paid for our meal for us!
Super sweet.

After we got home and got the girlies and babes to bed, we made a little treat. :) We have started switching off who makes treats each week and this weekend was my turn. I made a cranberry coffee cake with warm vanilla sauce on top.

Here's Dallas stirring the sauce for me.

It was scrumptious. Especially with ice-cream on the side.
