Half-Birthday, Cool Kids, Sleepy Baby

Thursday, January 21

My half-birthday! Yes, we celebrate half-birthdays. And by celebrate I mean, we mention that it is our birthday. Dallas and I always talk big talk like we are going to do something...but I think it's pretty rare that we actually do something for our half-birthday or 11/12th birthday or 5/6th birthday, etc. Usually we do something awesome (like a yummy treat or waffle breakfast) and then realize it was one of those birthdays and claim that's why we did it.

So! Here is the beginning of my half-birthday day. Emma and the babes! The babies not only love hanging out with the girlies at bedtime but also early in the morning! They have recently learned to crawl onto the beds and they LOVE doing that. Then they make their way over to the window to slap on the panes and peek outside.

Emma loves holding the babies. She's always asking to carry them around, down the stairs, around the house, etc. I am pretty cautious and she would probably still only be allowed to hold them while sitting down, but she has started picking them up without checking with me first and then I look over and see she's okay so I let her keep doing it...

Emma and Olive.

Me and Mabel.

Lucy is taking after Alice and getting ready for the day with LOTS of bows.

These silly willies. As soon as we're not looking, they sneak over to the stairs and start going up. They are getting good.

This was a pretty great moment. Alice was practicing her piano, Emma was trying out my treadmill, and Lucy was playing with legos. Everybody happy and productive.

Here's Alice singing and playing. She is getting SO GOOD, SO QUICKLY with the piano! She is super motivated and wants to practice with me everyday. I'm the one that's got to get myself in gear - she is always ready to go.

I have the let the girls walk/slowly jog on the treadmill, but only with me. Today I let Emma try it out all by herself. She went about a mile in the Serengeti in Africa and thought it was so cool!

And here is Lucy playing with the Lego castle Emma got for her birthday. Lucy has begun to really enjoy playing with toys. It is really cute to hear her say, "Play with me, mommy." And it makes you feel like a really lousy mommy if you tell her you are too busy.

Aha! Caught you! Here's Olive sneaking up the stairs. :)

Haha. She is SO pleased with herself!

Aw. Sweet Mabel fell asleep while eating her lunch. This never happened with Emma or Alice and didn't happen to Lucy til she was at least 1. But it's already happened at least once with each twin. I guess we just forget to put them down for their naps? Or they just get tired out with all these sisters?

Olive's still wide awake though!
