Not Enough Time, Airplanes, Keys, Friday Movie

 Friday, Jan 29

Tonight while walking out of the girl's room at bedtime, Emma began to cry and said, "There is just not enough time!" What do you mean? "There are so many things I want to get done each day and I can't get them all done!" Oh boy. I totally get that. I tell Emma it's okay and maybe we can work on making a list and a plan to be sure we get the most important things done. Which is a good idea - we should do that. But what is also true is that I am incredibly lousy at this - making a plan and prioritizing. Definitely something I need to work on and I totally understand Emma's outburst about there not being enough time. She suggested that we could pray and ask Heavenly Father for more time. That's when I said we all have the same amount of time - it's just learning how to use it. Sigh. I really truly get this. I have this thought just about every day, but I am kind of surprised a six year old is already feeling this way.

Anyway, here are Emma and the babies having a great time in our closet this morning. Lucy had brought her airplane up to our closet last night (that way it could sleep there and be ready for her to play with it right when she woke up), so the babes were pretty excited when they saw an airplane waiting for them in our closet.

Here's Emma helping Olive on the airplane.

The babies loved playing on the airplane.

And sweet little Lucy with her picnic basket.

I took this pic just to show you what a DISASTER our house can become. Luckily, there's cute babies and kids in the midst of it. Notice the massive box. We got that box in December and Emma snagged it and decorated it all over the outside and inside and the girls have had so much fun with it. It's currently usually the home for Emma's horses, and when it's turned right-side up, it becomes the place to quickly dump all the toys. That's actually only happened once. The girls are truly pretty good about putting things back where they go. I mean, we might have to encourage them - but they know what to do.

The girlies waiting for Dallas to come home.

Emma has talked to me about money a couple of times. She really wants to make some money. Last night she told me she would write and illustrate a book then sell it for ten dollars. She is so creative and thoughtful and proactive. She got to work on it right when she woke up and continued working on it all throughout the day until it was completed. Here she is showing it to me.

She made a video of her reading it and wants me to post that - so I will do that here.

I was all set to leave early and get Alice to preschool with time to spare when I realized I had no keys. We looked all over but soon, time was up. I told Alice we might not be able to go to preschool and I could tell she was about to cry. There must be something else we can do. I had the idea to call a friend. Luckily she was available and up for taking Alice to preschool. Emma went along as well because Alice didn't want to go alone. I am so grateful for my friend who rescued us right away and that Emma was there to help Alice when Alice felt scared.

Also, I was a little frustrated that our house was such a disaster I couldn't find my keys. As soon as the girlies were gone, I worked on getting Lucy and the babies to bed and then I started cleaning. I always tell Dallas and the girls, "If something is missing, clean and you will find it." Sure enough, here were the keys. INSIDE a coloring book.

Friday night means movie night! And this Friday, we got to have over Audrey! The girlies were so excited and set up this table all fancy so they could eat there together. We had some little frozen pizzas from Costco and salad. Nothing fancy but the girls said it was the best day ever. They say that about quite a few days though...and Emma does pray for that almost every time she prays. "And please let this be the best day ever." :)

After dinner, we watched Anne of Green Gables. Emma was SO excited to watch it and had been telling Alice and Lucy a bit about the story to get them ready for it. Audrey was so fun too. She was up for whatever we were watching and was so happy to be there. Don't worry, we didn't watch the ENTIRE movie in one night. Honestly, we rarely finish movies. I think we watched about 45 minutes. We take our time and watch movies over a few days/weekends.
